My favourite thing about studying Classics at Leeds is probably the range of opportunities available.

After your first year you can tailor your degree to fit your interests, be they history or literature, Greece or Rome, and your dissertation (final year project) can be on whatever you want: there is always someone in the department willing to supervise you.

There is also the opportunity to learn both Latin and Greek, either from scratch or improving on what you already have, but it’s completely optional: I’ve really enjoyed studying both, but if languages aren’t for you, there’s no need to worry!

It was amazing to experience living in a different country while still studying the subject I love. There was so much support and enthusiasm from both departments, and I had a great time and made some amazing friends.
