School of Design
We’re an interdisciplinary School bringing together expertise from a range of design and technology specialisms. Creation and innovation are at the heart of both our teaching and research as we aim to develop new design ideas and provide solutions to issues faced in industry and society.
The School of Design is actively working to build a diverse and inclusive school community that supports all staff and students. Our Equality and Inclusion Lead is Dr Catherine Stones. Acess staff and student resources and find out more about our current projects.

Research is integral to the School and heavily influences our teaching. We are conducting research into design, technology and aesthetics, examining the latest trends, developing new products and seeking innovative ways to solve real world problems using advanced technology and design ideas. We work closely with industrial partners and governmental organisations to ensure that our research has a positive impact for society and culture.
