I am a second year Classics student and am absolutely loving my time at Leeds. The university has been so accommodating and the staff in the Classics department in particular have been welcoming and provide great quality lectures. Leeds really stood out for me as a great city, a beautiful campus and a course that I was able to tailor to my particular interests.

In second year I have been able to cater my learning to a literature heavy degree, while I know others have been able to make theirs more ancient history based. This is what is so great about Classics at Leeds – you can really make your degree yours!

I have also loved being able to take discovery modules within the School of Law, meaning that I can also develop some additional interests and take up modules that can potentially help with future career plans.

The University of Leeds has such a wide range of societies, from yoga to caving, to baking to volunteering. Of course, the best is the Classics Society! We have planned numerous socials, events and talks this year including a Roman Banquet, a Gods, Heroes and Monsters themed pub crawl and a trip to Athens.

I couldn’t recommend Leeds as a place to study, live and make your home enough!!
