Discourse analysis research

Our research

Our discourse analysis research focuses on the following themes:

  • The representation of (road) users in official publications
  • Language ideologies in media discourse
  • Media representations of rape and violent crime against women
  • Politeness in institutional settings

We are active members of the Language at Leeds research hub, and in particular the Language at Leeds research satellite Corpus linguistics.
