Participatory Research
Our research
The Participatory Research group is interested in how participatory research methodologies, and particularly participatory arts approaches, can deepen understanding and strengthen agency by creating more equitable partnerships between researchers and participants in the research process.
Based in the Centre for World Cinemas & Digital Cultures, the group focuses primarily on Participatory Filmmaking, but also looks at other arts-based participatory methodologies including Theatre for Development and Digital Storytelling as ways of supporting empowerment and social action through research.
