French research
Our research
Leeds is home to one of the largest and most dynamic communities of researchers in French studies in the UK. We have some 18 research-active colleagues including post-doctoral researchers, and host a thriving postgraduate community.
The 2021 Research Excellence Framework recognised 79% of the overall research activity submitted across the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies as either “world leading” or “internationally excellent”. French forms an integral part of the School. Times Higher Education also ranked us fourth for research power from our Unit of Assessment.
