A research area within the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies
Leeds is home to one of the largest and most dynamic communities of researchers in French studies in the UK. We have some 18 research-active colleagues including post-doctoral researchers, and host a thriving postgraduate community.
In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies, of which French forms an integral part, was among the UK's top ten for Modern Languages in the field.
Language at Leeds
Language at Leeds brings together professionals within the University involved in the study of language, connecting individuals and groups to support research across various disciplines. The central tenet of the centre is an interdisciplinary approach to addressing and understanding issues relating to language, linguistics and communication.
