Impact and engagement

The initiatives we promote allow audiences to come into contact with new and original strands of research, whilst also providing the researchers themselves with a platform to discuss and receive feedback on their latest work-in-progress from an interdisciplinary point of view.

We welcome anyone who is curious about the various perspectives from which Italy is studied at the University of Leeds.

Made in Italy: Cultural Artifacts - Thursday 10 May
The second in in ItaLeeds' series of perspectives on Italy, this seminar looked at the concept of ‘Made in Italy’ from a particular perspective: the construction of cultural artifacts, ranging from the intellectual to the material.

Italian Cinema through the Lens - Thursday 25 January
The first in ItaLeeds' series of perspectives on Italy, this seminar looked at the peninsula 'through the (camera) lens'. We took realism as a fil rouge to guide us through the different ways Italy, its language and culture have been represented on screen.
