Instituto cervantes

The Leeds branch has been running since 1993 and is located at 169 Woodhouse Lane, in a separate building next to the University of Leeds campus (near the Parkinson Building). There are other branches based in London and Manchester.

The Instituto offers a wealth of cultural events including film screenings, lectures, talks, plays, poetry readings and concerts. Most events are free of charge and they take place either in the Instituto Cervantes or on the University campus.

The Instituto Cervantes in Leeds has a library with many varied resources including contemporary literature, films, music, and periodicals and Spanish language learning materials. Membership of the library is free for students studying Spanish at the University of Leeds.

Finally the Instituto Cervantes is a centre for the DELE diplomas, these are official qualifications accrediting levels of competence and command of the Spanish language. It also offers teacher training courses and flamenco and Spanish guitar courses.
