International Writers at Leeds
International Writers at Leeds
International Writers at Leeds (IWAL) is an exciting programme of public events with visiting writers from around the world. Organised by the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies at the University of Leeds in partnership with Leeds City Library, its aim is to bring international writers to Leeds for public readings.
Readings are friendly, often bilingual, and there's always a chance to meet the author. They take place in the beautiful Event Space at Leeds City Library.
Where possible writers are accompanied by their English translators and signed books will be available to buy at the end. The readings are introduced and chaired by specialists from the university and will end with a discussion and the chance for the audience to ask questions. IWAL has proved a great opportunity for literature lovers from Leeds, Yorkshire and beyond to meet writers from all over the world.
