Equality and Inclusion in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures
We are actively working to create resources, policies and conversations that support our equality and inclusion agenda. The Faculty’s Lead for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is Professor Beth Johnson.

Current Projects
We are working on a number of initiatives that reflect Faculty priorities. These include: Delivering our Athena Swan Action Plan with focused work on gender equality in recruitment, research culture and the student experience; A series of Lectures exploring the value of the arts and humanities for equality, diversity and inclusion; and our annual Student Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Prize.

Student Advisory Board
The Student Advisory Board (SAB) is a group of 12 undergraduate and taught postgraduate students from Schools across the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures who can speak from their own experience to make a positive impact on equality and inclusivity in student education and experience.
Faculty Equality and Inclusion Committee
The Faculty Equality and Inclusion Committee (FEIC) is chaired by the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion lead, Professor Beth Johnson, and reports to the Faculty Executive Committee. The Committee meets six times a year. Members represent each of the Faculty’s Schools, professional and technical staff and students (undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD.) It provides an oversight of our equality and inclusion work.
