Critical AI Research Group

A laptopogram displaying a dataset as cloud-like clusters of black blobs on a neutral background. There are three larger collections, almost resembling a map, with some data points leaking out into the negative space.

This interdisciplinary group examines the cultural, social, ethical, and political dimensions of contemporary artificial intelligence and algorithmically driven technologies.

It explores critical perspectives on modern AI from cultural analysts, artists, historians, philosophers, and computer scientists, among others, with particular attention to the issues of identity, power, equity, labour, and social justice.

The group welcomes researchers, teachers, and stakeholders across all disciplinary/non-disciplinary formations, who are interested in critically evaluating the physical and discursive infrastructures enabling the diverse dimensions of modern AI.
