Description
Traditional water-proof materials are harmful to the planet; water-repellent coatings are harmful to the environment and damaging to human and animal health. In this project we are working with Amphico who have developed a new water-proof material called Amphitex. Amphitex is inherently superhydrophic and its construction requires no additional water repellent chemical coating to protect it. The team at Leeds are developing colour prediction algorithms and software using machine learning that is vital for commercialisation of the new material.
