Leadership Ethics, Persuasion and Public Reason

Leadership ethics research group

Our research

One of our centre’s main areas of research is the ethics of how people persuade, lead and attempt to influence one another. Within both the public and private sectors, ethical issues about how people influence the beliefs, votes, decisions and behaviour of others are both topical and important.

One of our key projects, entitled ‘Leading Minds’, has the goal of building a comprehensive ethics of persuasive leadership. Mainly focused on organisational influence and leadership, it draws from a broad range of subjects including ancient and political philosophy, organisational studies, psychology and business leadership.
