Engineering Ethics Conference 2018
In 2018 we set out to develop a 10-year vision for Engineering Ethics in the UK. We held a national conference in partnership with the Royal Academy of Engineering, the Engineering Council, Engineers Without Borders and the Engineering Professors Council, to help inform and shape the vision. Together we developed a starting point document to chart key developments in Engineering Ethics over the past 15-20 years.
Engineering Ethics 2018 brought together decision-makers from industry, higher education, regulators and professional engineering institutions. The conference looked at some of the big ethical challenges facing engineering today and in the future, and how engineers can tackle them. Through questions, discussion and use of technology, representatives were able to offer their views to shape the 10-year vision.
