Opportunities for Postdoctoral Fellowships in the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies
Opportunities for Postdoctoral Fellowships
We have a strong history of successful applications across a number of postdoctoral schemes, and a vibrant community of current postdoctoral scholars who are funded through a variety of schemes and models. Over the past several years we have hosted nine postdocs through the major schemes offered by funders including Marie Curie, the British Academy and The Leverhulme Trust.
Some of the key schemes are listed below, with more information about how to apply through the School. Please note that we operate internal closing dates for these schemes, which in some cases will be well in advance of the funder's own final deadline.
If the scheme you are interested in is not specifically listed, please get in touch with LCSResearch@leeds.ac.uk to discuss your situation.
Special areas of research interest
We welcome applicants with research interests that align with any part of the School’s existing wide-ranging and multi-disciplinary research. However, we are particularly interested to hear from applicants who research in certain key topics which reflect the School’s own strategic agenda. Each is a shared idea or theme for School-wide focus and development.
In the period 2023 - 2026 we are particularly interested in applications from people working in the following areas:
-
Diversity and inclusion in languages and cultures
-
Interculturality
-
Environmental humanities
-
Protest, resistance and rebellion
