Celebrating Student Successes
Two of our MA Applied Professional Ethics students have recently had their academic achievements recognised outside of the university.
Miguelina Dalton
Current IDEA Centre student Miguelina Dalton has been accepted to present at two conferences. The first is the Great Lakes Philosophy Conference in Adrian, Michigan, where Miguelina will present her paper, "Human Flourishing". The conference will be held later this month, March 24th-26th.
Later in the year, Miguelina will be at 67th Annual Meeting The Society for the Study of Social Problems, presenting her talk on “Fatherlessness throughout American History”. The conference is held in Montreal on August 11th-13th this year.
Shaun Young
Shaun Young, a recent IDEA Centre alum, has had a paper accepted for publication in De Ethica: A Journal of Philosophical, Theological and Applied Ethics. The paper, "Wage Desert and the Success of Organisations", will be published in the 2017 Fall issue of the journal.
It is a particular achievement for the IDEA Centre, as the original paper was submitted by Shaun for one of the Applied and Professional Ethics modules:
"...it represents my first peer-reviewed publication examining a topic significantly “outside” of my typical scope of focus/expertise – I believe that speaks extremely well to the quality of instruction/education provided by... [the] MA APE faculty members."
The IDEA Centre are very proud of both Shaun and Miguelina, and wish them well in their academic successes.
