Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures

We have one of the broadest portfolios in the arts and humanities, as well as the creative arts and technologies, among the Russell Group of research-intensive universities. The Faculty brings together experts to deliver teaching and research through the following schools.

Our Faculty Vision and Strategy

We are delighted to share our new Faculty Vision & Strategy for 2025-30. Over the next five years, we will build on our many unique strengths to produce world-class research, offer an outstanding student experience and forge sector-leading partnerships, while embedding environmental and social responsibility in everything we do.

The arts and humanities are essential to understanding and addressing the world’s most complex challenges, and our strategy will ensure that we work inclusively across disciplines and sectors to drive positive societal change - locally, nationally, and globally.

Ours is a bold vision, and we look forward to working with colleagues, students, and partners to make it a reality.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

As a Faculty community made up of staff and students from all around the UK and the world, we are committed to building a culture of inclusion, respect and equality of opportunity.

We have been awarded an Athena Swan Bronze Award in recognition of our work towards gender equality.
