My research lies primarily in the area of Francophone and post-colonial studies: politics and aesthetics of Algerian cinematic production, and representations of women in male-directed films. The research involves discussions on space and gender, memory and space in film, cultural memory and the role of documentary and testimoy in memory transmission. Other interests of the research are widened within the scope of Maghrebi cinema, Third Cinema and World Cinema.
