Opportunities for Visiting Research Fellows
Academic Sponsors
Applicants to the Visiting Research Fellows scheme in the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies require a named academic sponsor who must be an academic member of staff in the School. The named academic sponsor must be stated on the application form and support in writing the Visiting Research Fellow’s affiliation with our School.
It is the responsibility of the Visiting Research Fellow to identify a named academic sponsor before submitting an application to the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies. The full list of current academic members of staff in the School can be found on our Staff Directory.
Typically, academic sponsors would welcome a newly arrived Visiting Research Fellow to the University of Leeds and the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies, and introduce them to the School’s research community. Where agreed, they can engage in collaborative research. Academic sponsors are not expected, however, to function as academic supervisors or mentors for a Visiting Research Fellow.
