Profile
I hold a Master of Music in Piano Performance from Texas State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in Church Music from Universitas Pelita Harapan.
Previously, I served as a Department Chair from 2017-2024, where I led curriculum revisions, established strategic partnerships, and significantly increased the on-time graduation rate and research output within the department.
My professional experience includes teaching courses in applied piano, music philosophy, and aural skills, along with organising academic events and workshops to foster collaborative growth in music education.
I am currently a PhD student at the University of Leeds, working with Professor Karen Burland and Professor Edward Venn on my project to understand the effectiveness of work placements for the formation of music teacher identity.
Research interests
Music Teacher Identity
My research focuses on understanding the preservice music teachers' development and identity formation. I want to explore various experiential learning models, specifically on work placements and internship practices, that contribute to shaping teaching methods, self-efficacy, and pedagogical knowledge in future music educators.
Curriculum & Employability
I am interested in how curriculum design can help music education students ready to face the challenges in 21st-century education. My goal is to enhance the employability of music education graduates so they are ready to engage in diverse educational settings.
