Profile
I am currently a PhD student in the School of Music, Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures. Before this, I obtained my Master degree in Musicology from the University of Sheffield and a MPhil degree from the University of Glasgow.
Research interests
My research interests are mainly focused on exploring the fields of musical modernism and postmodernism. The title of my MPhil dissertation is Global Musical Modernism in China, 1927-1979. Taking the works of the earliest modernist composers in China as examples, the focus is on the manifestations of global musical modernism practised in China from 1927 to 1979. In particular, I am interested in modernist and postmodernist musical works from different cultural backgrounds.
