Professor Edward Venn Publishes Edited Collection of Essays on Thomas Adès

In the year of Adès’s 50th birthday, Professor Edward Venn and Professor Philip Stoecker have published a collection of academic essays on the British composer Thomas Adès.

This month Professor Edward Venn (University of Leeds) and Professor Philip Stoecker (Hofstra University) have published Thomas Adès Studies – the first multi-authored collection of academic essays on the acclaimed contemporary British composer Thomas Adès. Published by Cambridge University Press in the year of Adès’s 50th birthday, the collection features chapters by world-leading scholars from both sides of the Atlantic. The book also showcases the strength of undergraduate research at the University of Leeds, featuring a chapter written by Professor Venn with Henry Weekes: a Laidlaw Scholar at the School of Music. The comprehensive collection covers Adès’s major compositions from a range of perspectives offering a significant original contribution to musicological scholarship.
