Christos Chatzigiannis

Profile

I studied Classics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where I completed my BA in 2017 and my MPhil (‘Zeno the rhetor: his contribution to the rhetorical theory of the imperial period’) in 2019. I am currently enrolled in the School of Languages, Cultures, and Societies of the University of Leeds as a Postgraduate Researcher. During my Masters, I received a SYLFF (Sasawaka Young Leaders Fellowship Fund) scholarship from the Nippon Foundation and the Tokyo Foundation for Policy Research, and a grant from the A.G. Leventis Foundation to finish my dissertation. 

Research interests

Greek Literature of the Roman Empire; Rhetoric and Philosophy in the Second Sophistic (Dio Chrysostom, Aelius Aristides); Ancient rhetorical theory (Zeno the rhetor, Onasimus, Hermogenes); Application of modern literary theories in classics.
