Profile
I am a postgraduate researcher on the Changing the Story project. Changing the Story is a GCRF project exploring how the arts, heritage, and human rights education can support youth-centred approaches to civil society building in post-conflict settings across the world. My research specifically explores social justice at the intersection of the arts and education within this project, asking “how do programmes working at the intersection of the arts and formal education in post-conflict settings reflect and contribute to social justice and peacebuilding?”. Whilst I am researching across the Changing the Story project, my main contextual focus is in Cambodia and Kosovo. At the University of Leeds I have taught on a number of modules across the School of Politics and International Studies and the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures.
Prior to starting my research at the University of Leeds, I was Junior Researcher and Lecturer in the Department of Governance and Inclusive Development at the Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research, University of Amsterdam. Here I worked on the Her Choice project, a Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affiars funded Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Alliance, focussing on early marriage in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, and a project with SOS Children’s Villages exploring the social exclusion of vulnerable youth. I taught on the Education and International Development module.
