Russian alumna returns to discuss her latest book

We are delighted to announce that best-selling author and Russian alumna Helen Rappaport will deliver the second Chris Sheppard lecture on 25th May.

Helen will lecture on the subject of her latest book Caught in the Revolution: Petrograd 1917, a compelling account of foreign eyewitnesses of the Russian revolution in 1917. In her book Helen draws on material from the Leeds Russian Archive, and with her permission, the Leeds Russian Archive's exhibition to mark the centenary of the Russian revolution is called Caught in the Russian Revolution: The British Community in Petrograd, 1917-1918.

The lecture coincides with and celebrates the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Leeds Russian Archive on 25th May 1982.
