The theme of the 2025 conference will be 'Politics and Performance'.
Call for papers
We invite proposals for 20-minute papers on the theme of Politics and Performance. Subjects might include (but are not limited to):
- Ceremonies of rulership (e.g. coronations, crown wearing, joyous entries)
- Representations of royal and ducal power and of other interest groups
- Feasts, festivities, processions
- Literary and artistic patronage
- Political dimensions of art, drama and literature
- Tournaments and feats of arms
We also welcome discussions of digital methods, teaching practice and resources, or aspects of publishing, as long as these relate to late medieval France and Burgundy.

Some travel bursaries may be available for the unwaged, postgraduates and early career researchers. Further information will be provided when possible.
