New publication for Dr Ruth Daly!

Lecturer in Cultural Studies and Global Creative Industries Dr Ruth Daly has a new co-edited article published this week in the Special Issue Parallax Vol 29 'Reading Otherwise:Decolonial Feminisms'

Structured around a series of in-conversations between 13 scholars, writers and activists, the issue draws on the conversation as a generative form of encounter and affect. ‘Instead of beginning with a single, fixed definition of ‘decolonial feminism’ – or indeed, ‘reading otherwise’ – it opens space for critical examinations of these concepts through staging this series of encounters-in-conversation.

When conceiving of this special issue as a series of conversations, we were interested in how ideas form through encounters in the present, how present words carry past voices with them, how conversations themselves might offer modes of thinking otherwise.’ We hope that this issue, in part, interrupts the distance conventionally implied by the academic article.
