The School of History is delighted to announce that at the Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Health and Safety, the School of History won an Award for Wellbeing Achievement.

Pietro Delcorno, a post-doctoral researcher, wrote a book published in October 2017 titled, 'In the Mirror of the Prodigal Son: The Pastoral Uses of a Biblical Narrative (c. 1200-1550)'.

Institute for Medieval Studies alumna Dr Joanna Phillips' PhD thesis is previewed, which proposes the reading of medieval chronicles, specifically those of the crusades, for their medical content.

Dr Joanna Phillips, a University of Leeds alumnus, delivered a public lecture at Barley Hall, York about how bodily suffering was seen as a form of religious devotion during the crusades.
