Yoichi Isahaya (Hokkaido University): A Cross-Cultural “Astronomical Dialogue” between a Muslim Polymath and Chinese Sage in Thirteenth-Century Eurasia.
Professor Yoichi Isahaya from the Hokkaido University will hold a talk about the 'Mongol ideology' through a produced cross-cultural dialogue between a Muslim Polymath and a sage of Cathay. Through this "astronomical dialogue", Proffesor Isahaya sheds further light on Mongol attitudes to various forms of knowledge and sciences that they discovered while expanding their vast empire.
