Talk on Bradford Women's Humanity League's 'Great Demonstration'

This year celebrates the Centenary of the Bradford Women's Humanity League's 'Great Demonstration' of 9th September 1917.

3,000 people marched from Westgate in Bradford across town in protest against the slaughter of their menfolk in World War One. It was one of many actions by the Bradford Women's Humanity League during WW1. Hear the story of this in a talk and visual presentation by University of Leeds School of History Postgraduate Researcher Eve Haskins and Peter Nias.

The event takes place on Thursday 7th September at The Peace Museum, Piece Hall Yard, Bradford, BD1 1PJ (opposite Waterstones bookshop) from 5.30pm. There is free entry and light refreshments provided.
