Another world? Decolonization, textual cultures and the global 1960s in East Africa

The Global History Seminar Series welcomes Dr Emma Hunter from the University of Edinburgh.

We will be joined by Dr Emma Hunter from the University of Edinburgh. Dr Hunter's research is in the field of modern African and global political, intellectual and cultural history, and focuses on two connected areas: 

  • the intellectual history of twentieth-century Africa in a global context 
  • the history of African print cultures and the history of the Swahili language in East Africa.
