Decolonisation, the rise of Welfare States, and British International Development in the 1960s

The Global History Seminar Series welcomes Emily Baughan from the University of Sheffield.

This April we will be joined by Dr Emily Baughan from the University of Sheffield. Dr Baughan's research places the history of modern Britain within wider international and imperial contexts.

Her work focuses particularly on the history of aid, development, and internationalism in the twentieth century and on connections between international humanitarianism and the British welfare state. Emily is also interested in the ways history can inform contemporary debates about aid and development.

All are welcome to attend this event.

Convenor: Dr Sean Fear.
