The Last Days of the Spanish Republic

Professor Sir Paul Preston will deliver a public keynote lecture in light of the 80th anniversary of the end of the Spanish Civil War

To mark the 80th anniversary of the end of the Spanish Civil War, the Centre for the History of Ibero-America is hosting a series of events around the themes of conflict and refugees.

One of the highlights is a talk at the Leeds Central Library by Professor Sir Paul Preston of the London School of Economics. This is an opportunity to hear from one of the greatest experts on twentieth-century Spanish history, as he tells the story of a conflict that cost many thousands of lives and ruined many thousands more.
