All are welcomed by the LCS and IMS to attend the book launch of Dr. Pietro Delcorno's new book, 'In the Mirror of the Prodigal Son'.
The book, In the Mirror of the Prodigal Son: The Pastoral Uses of a Biblical Narrative (c.1200-1500), provides a comprehensive history of the function of the parable of the prodigal son in shaping religious identity in medieval and Reformation Europe. Pietro Delcorno, a post-doctoral researcher and a NWO Rubicon post-doctoral fellow at the Leeds Humanities Research Institute (LHRI), School of Languages, Cultures, and Societies, will discuss his research with Professor Veronica O'Mara (University of Hull) and Dr. Ambrogio Camozzi Pistoja (University of Cambridge).
This event is jointly co-organised by Italian- Languages, Cultures and Societies (LCS), and the Institute for Medieval Studies (IMS). More information about the book, including purchasing information, can be found on the publisher's website. The Introduction and Epilogue are available through open access.
A small reception will follow the discussion.
