School of English ranked 35th in the world
We are pleased to share that the School of English has been ranked 35th in the world by the QS World Rankings by Subject 2018.
These rankings are published annually and provide a globally-respected assessment of how the world's leading higher education institutions are performing. The rankings are calculated based on global surveys of academics, graduate employers, and research expertise, and can be further broken down into five broad subject areas and 48 specific subjects.
This new ranking - which is up five places from last year - marks another international success for our School. The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures, of which our School is a part, has been ranked 51st in the world and the University of Leeds as a whole has also achieved 70th place this year in the QS Graduate Employability Rankings.
Special congratulations also go to the School of Media and Communication (39th place), as well as to our colleagues in history, modern languages and philosophy whose subjects are ranked in the top 100. You can read the rankings in full on the Top Universities website.
