sorry you were not moved: an online reading and discussion event with Dr Kimberly Campanello
School of English lecturer and writer Kimberly Campanello is celebrating the launch of her collaborative digital poetry publication, sorry you were not moved, with co-author Christodoulos Makris.
In collaboration with Ian Maleney of Fallow Media and supported by the Arts Council Literature Project Award, this unique experience was inspired by Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities, exploring space-time dimensions through ‘experimental-appropriative’ writing strategies and audio-visual interventions.
On the 10th of February, Campanello and Makris will be performing readings and conversations about the work, hosted by University of Glasgow creative writing lecturer, Colin Herd.
Fellow writer Joanna Walsh, author of Girl Online previewed the publication as said, “Kimberly Campanello and Christodoulos Makris have created a telling tribute to the way we travel now. A lockdown word-tour, by travelling without moving, we can be moved without travelling. But wherever we go there's nowhere to escape our vocabulary: wish you were here!”
Roisin Kiberd, author of The Disconnect: A Personal Journey Through the Internet said, “Both conceptually and aesthetically it's a fascinating experience, and so well put together, and it made me thankful that there are venues for this kind of creative work in Ireland. It's beautiful and so appropriate to this cold covid-plagued January.”
