Marilena Iannidinardi, a Leeds graduate and staff interpreter at the European Commission, will give an insight into the profession opportunities for interpreters after Brexit.
The EU still needs English speaking interpreters and certain languages are currently in high demand. There will be the opportunity to try out simultaneous interpreting in a booth. Depending on numbers, it may be possible to take a group to the interpreting suites in the Parkinson building after the event, or alternatively, to arrange a more convenient time.
Staff from the Masters in Conference Interpreting in Leeds will also be available to answer any questions you may have.
The School of Languages, Cultures and Societies is offering various Scholarships to students joining our MA courses, with additional awards for those studying translation and interpreting. In addition, current University of Leeds students get a 10% discount on tuition fees.
This session is primarily focussed towards final year undergraduates with any of the following languages: French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. All other undergraduates with these languages are also most welcome.
