Launch of Leadership in Arts Fundraising free online course
The course, aimed at developing skills to help lead successful fundraising and sustainable business development in the arts and cultural sector, will launch on Monday 28 March.
The Leadership in Arts Fundraising online course has been developed by the School of Performance and Cultural Industries with the Arts Fundraising and Philanthropy programme, funded by Arts Council UK, and through the school’s partnership with Cause4.
Freely available on the FutureLearn platform, it will give learners the chance to engage over a three week period, committing around three hours per week.
The course will help to understand the role of a leader in developing and embedding fundraising within organisations in the arts and cultural sector.
This will be done through exploring techniques to lead effective arts fundraising, learning how to analyse organisational fundraising and helping to understand how organisational culture impacts change in fundraising.
It will also engage how to distinguish between crisis-led change and longer-term realignments that require organisational changes, while also considering emerging trends in fundraising and giving and exploring alternative approaches from around the world.
Dr Jonathan Price, Lecturer in Creativity & Enterprise will lead the course.
