Opportunities for Visiting Research Fellows

Bench Fees 

Visiting Research Fellows whose applications are approved after 31 March 2026 will be required to pay a bench fee of £180 per calendar month for the duration of their affiliation. For those whose applications were approved prior to that date, the previous bench fee of £150 per calendar month will continue to apply. The School will consider fee waivers for the following categories of Visiting Research Fellows: 

• Academics/practitioners from OECD ‘Low and Middle Income Countries’, unless they are in receipt of funding designed to meet such costs.
• Early career researchers who do not have tenure in their home institution, unless they are in receipt of funding designed to meet such costs. 

Please specify in your application, if you wish to apply for a fee waiver and provide supporting evidence, where necessary. Decisions on fee waivers will be communicated to applicants by email once their full applications have been reviewed and accepted. 

Please note that full fee waivers can only be offered under exceptional circumstances.
