For the duration of your affiliation with the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies, you will be entitled to carry the title of a Visiting Research Fellow.

Facilities and Support

As a Visiting Research Fellow in our School, you will have access to the following facilities:

  • A dedicated welcome meeting with a named academic sponsor
  • A University of Leeds email address
  • A username/password for University computers and networks and access to computing facilities across campus
  • The University of Leeds Library, which is one of the major academic research libraries in the UK, hosting a stock of over 2.8 million and 500,000 online books, and more 37,000 print and online journals
  • Facilities to print, scan and copy
  • The School’s research mailing list, with regular updates on events and external funding opportunities
  • Access to research events/lectures in the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies, any affiliated Research Centres and throughout the University of Leeds

We also offer the usual facilities of a staff common room with access to food, retail and leisure facilities (including a sports centre) available on Campus and the near vicinity.

Unfortunately, the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies is unable to offer Visiting Research Fellows any dedicated office or desk space. However, there are numerous computer clusters in our School as well as on other University of Leeds premises, including our libraries, which will be available for use by our Visiting Research Fellows.

Accommodation

The University of Leeds may be able to assist Visiting Research Fellows with university housing during the summer months.
