HISPANISMS: Spain in the Italian and British historiographical imagination

Three acclaimed experts on Modern Spain will be discussing the seismic transformations affecting the writing of Modern Spain since 1975.

Their personal and professional experience allow Botti, Cleminson and Romero Salvadò to engage with the historiographical changes and scholarly perceptions of Spain from a privileged vantage point. Their research focus on the history of Catholicism, nationalisms, gender and sexuality, as well as the political and social experience of the militant working classes, will be the basis for a fruitful conversation and debate.

Guest speakers: Alfonso Botti (Univ. Reggio-Emilia), Richard Cleminson (Leeds) and Francisco Romero Salvadò (Bristol)

All welcome!
