Research interests
My research is mainly in epistemology and the philosophy of language. I’m interested in lots of different stuff, connected more or less directly to the question of how we should think about knowledge and inquiry, given our nature as practical and social creatures.
I’ve written about the nature of practical knowledge, collective inquiry, and which concepts we should use to think about knowledge. I’ve also written about misinformation, social media, deepfakes, and search engines. At the moment, I’m thinking about work and the ethics of skill, the connection between conversation and shared planning, and (what I’m calling) question critique.
I have also co-authored what’s probably the second shortest paper in philosophy.
