Profile

I joined the University of Leeds as Lecturer in Creative Writing and Programme Leader for the BA English Literature with Creative Writing in 2022. Previously I worked as a Wellcome-funded postdoctoral researcher the University of Oxford and the University of Leeds, where I also completed my PhD in English Literature.

Research interests

I am an author of fiction, poetry and criticism. My debut poetry collection, Thin Slices, was published by Verve Poetry Press in 2022. My monograph, Abortion Ecologies in Southern African Fiction, is published by Bloomsbury Academic (2023). 

My research interests include interdisciplinary collaborations between the arts & sciences and creative health, as demonstrated by my collaboration on the Leeds Creative Labs with Professor Paul Beales. Please see my ‘areas of expertise’ for a breakdown of my specialist genres & themes. 

I am a member of the editorial team at Stand, Leeds’s international literary journal.
