Profile

I am a philosophy PhD student studying under Dr. Helen Steward and Dr. Jess Isserow. My research interests sit at the intersection of ethics, action theory, and psychology. I am especially interested in how the social, behavioral, and biological sciences figure in philosophical inquiry.

Research interests

The current guiding light of my research is the concept of persons. I am investigating the advantages of a naturalist view of persons, and how seeing ourselves as developed and developing biological beings influences our ideas about morality. Relatedly, I am thinking a lot about the nature of agency. Who or what is an agent, and how do different conceptions of agency impact moral thinking? My work takes Annette Baier’s work as a jumping off point, but it also engages heavily with other naturalist philosophers such as David Wong.
