Profile
I am currently a provisional doctoral researcher in Translation Studies at the University of Leeds. My work focuses on the intersection of political discourse, conflict narratives, and religious translation within English-Arabic contexts. Grounded in Mona Baker’s Narrative Theory, I explore how translation functions as a socially and ideologically embedded practice.
I am particularly interested in the roles of translators, editors, and publishing houses, and how their individual and institutional narratives influence translation strategies and outcomes. This includes examining the dynamics of power, representation, and agency in the translation of politically and religiously sensitive texts.
