Profile

I am public engagement / audience development enthusiast (practice, teaching, publishing) and cultural manager of 30 years of experience. 

I have a European Diploma for Cultural Project Management from M.Hicter Foundation in Brussels. I was a coordinator of various interdisciplinary, art and educational projects, also as part of international cooperation. For 15 years I served as the Vice President of the Polish Federation of Independent Filmmakers. I was a initiator and board member of River//Cities – cooperation platform of 39 European cultural organizations located in riverside cities (www.river-cities.net) and creator of artistic events organized by the Vistula River in Warsaw. I was creator and producer of projects and workshops financed by the European Commission. Among others for many years I was director of two events: OFF/ON Warszawa European Film Week and director of Re:visions of Art - the three-day swirl of culture in Warsaw presenting all art disciplines. I worked as audience development specialist in the UK (National Museums of Liverpool, The Hepworth Wakefield, Aberdeen Performing Arts). I assess projects for the European Commission.

I am vice president of Impact Foundation in Warsaw. Since 2011, Impact promotes the audience development concept in Poland organising conferences, workshops and individually working with art organisations and institutions in Poland. We have published 3 books in Polish about audience development concept and tools.

 

Research interests

A key focus on my PhD research is to critically assess the potential of digital art projects (focusing on VR art) to support arts sector objectives to engage new and infrequent audiences in cultural experiences and to capture and analyse these experiences.
