Graduate Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne nominated for BBC Radio 2 Horizon Award

Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne, who recently graduated from our School, has been nominated for an Horizon Award in the upcoming BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. The award honours the best emerging folk artist. Cohen graduated in 2017 with a BA in Music. He specialises in melodeon and concertina.

The Radio 2 Folk Awards exist to celebrate outstanding achievement and highlight the world of folk music. The awards have been running for 19 years and previous award recipients include Joan Baez, Yusuf Cat Stevens, Billy Bragg, Shirley Collins and Ry Cooder.

This year, the Radio 2 Folk Awards will see performances from Paul Brady, Cara Dillon, Lankum, and Eliza Carthy & The Wayward Band amongst others.

The awards take place on 4th April 2018 at Belfast’s Waterfront.
