Graduate cast as lead role in award winning National Theatre production

PCI Graduate Sam Newton BA (Hons) Theatre and Performance (First Class, 2014) has been cast as the lead role of Christopher (alternate nights) in the National Theatre award-winning production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (UK Tour). The iconic production is directed by Marianne Elliot and originated at the National Theatre in London, and played on Broadway and West End and has had several UK tours. The Consultant Associate Director is another PCI graduate Katy Rudd. Sam has acted in several performances during his studies in Leeds including The Gift of Pygmalion (Germany), Facehunters (Edinburgh), Leeds Tealights (Edinburgh) and The Bacchae (stage@leeds). Sam Newton is very excited to be part of this production and told us that “I cannot wait to take this incredible show to so many different parts of the UK, especially Leeds, where the School of Performance and Cultural Industries has played such a crucial role in my development”.
