Dr of Philosophy with the School of Education at the University of Leeds. My thesis was on The use of synchronous computer-mediated communication text-based online chat to self-repair recurrent errors in indicative-subjunctive-related structures when speaking in advanced learners of Spanish.

Degree in Translation and Interpretation at the University of Alicante and MA in Technology, Education and Learning at the University of Leeds.

I have been teaching Spanish as a foreign language since 2003 in Germany and in Spain.  Since 2013 I have been working at Instituto Cervantes Manchester-Leeds as a teacher of Spanish and teacher trainer. I also taught Spanish language and culture courses at the University of Leeds and the University of Huddersfield from 2014 to 2018. I have published different papers on the use of technology and digital tools for language learning and teaching, such as The Impact of Text-based Online Chat Oral Fluency and Grammatical Accuracy (Cambridge Scholars); ¿Indicativo o subjuntivo? Elige tu propia aventura: una actividad digital para fomentar el aprendizaje de una gramática cognitiva. (MarcoELE); Are our students ready for a shift in how grammar is taught and the format in which is presented to practice? (The Language Scholar, University of Leeds); Thinking the Grammar: Teaching a cognitive grammar in a blended-learning context (The Language Scholar, University of Leeds); In 2019 I was awarded the Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

I am currently Residence Abroad Tutor for Spanish and Portuguese.

  • Coordination of UG going on their year abroad to Spanish and Portuguese- speaking countries
