Profile

• I joined the University of Leeds as a lecturer in Korean in 2022. I worked at SOAS and the University of Central Lancashire prior to joining the University of Leeds.
• I am a linguist, a translator and interpreter, and a professional Korean language instructor certified by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea.
• I am a PhD supervisor and am currently supervising.
• I am the initiator & founder of the British Association for Korean Language Education (BAKLE) and currently serve as the Chair of BAKLE. I have organised its launch event, “Symposium for Korean Language Educators in UK Higher Education 2024.”
• I am the co-founder of the East Asian Translation Satellite.
• I am a fellow at the Leeds Institute for Teaching Excellence (LITE) and am currently conducting a LITE-funded project. Click here to see my project.

Student education

• I am the module leader and tutor for all the Korean modules at the University of Leeds.
• I co-teach a MA module on translation and supervise master students’ translation projects (English to Chinese). 
• I supervise MA students’ dissertations on a wide range of topics related to China and South Korea.
